Project Runway returns to Lifetime on Thursday, injecting a much-needed dose of style and drama into an otherwise empty summer TV schedule. Over the last 13 seasons, the Bay Area has had its fair share of talent on the reality runway — Melissa Fleis, Elena Slivnyak, and Chris March, to name a few — but Season 12 finalist Alexandria Von Bromssen is doing her part to ensure that Northern California is represented for years to come. Her contribution? Camp Couture sewing classes.
Von Bromssen’s San Mateo camp is a fashion design and sewing school that provides lessons to clients of all ages and all levels. This summer, she’s offering weeklong camps for the region’s younger set of aspiring designers. Classes for kids ages 7-17 run from 9 am – 2.30 pm Monday – Friday, and cost $550 per week.
For parents who need extra time to drop off and pick up their campers —or campers who want extra studio time— Camp Couture also offers before and after care for an additional $20 per hour. The studio is open from 8:05 am – 6.30 pm.
Is your kid the next fashion wunderkind? A new generation’s Alexander Wang or Zac Posen? Space is still available for the August sessions, so head over to the Camp Couture website and sign up your little designers today.
