Focus of study: Up-cycling

All students should bring clothing to up cycle to create wearable garments that will( can) be showcased at the Maker Faire Fashion Show* the  May 20th show in San Mateo.

When deciding on what to up cycle; denim, t-shirts ( stripes are the best), collared mens shirts, lightweight knit work well.  …and ideally you curate a coordinating color story that ultimately look visually pleasing together.  Some thought to color coordination and fabric selection will elevate the projects right off the bat. If this is info seems too much already – no worries!! Just bring in stuff that you might like to modify.

Jackets are great to up cycle as well – so if there is a favorite jacket or something something that you can’t throw out because its too cool, but to small to wear,  we will help you recreate it so it can have a second life. Life is too short for temporary fashion! Plus its green and that is something we at Camp Couture pride ourselves on .

Thinking about the color coordination will elevate the projects right off the bat.  We also have lots of things for the student to use to create things with.  We want to teach students how to rethink waste as well as learn how to think and create green.

*Fashoin show is optional but strongly encouraged:)
