Camp Couture is starting a monthly charity program. This special program is free to all students.
Camp Couture San Carlos will host a monthly workshop where various charities will be helped.

The charity program will begin in March.

Our 1st charity to sew for is Project Snuggles which encourages crafters of all kind to create blankets for shelter animals to cuddle in while they wait for new homes and so they can have something familiar when they make the transition from shelter to loving home. They have a great search feature so you can find a shelter near you to drop off your goods. I just sent an email to my nearest letting them know to expect some donations soon (See picture above of blankets waiting to go).  

Camp Couture hopes to be charitable to many different organizations . Camp Couture’s monthly charity sewing circles will focus on different organizations to help as much as we can!

The new mother daughter class was a hit.
Beginning students learned how to sew and then applied their new skill to a couple of projects. The ladies made a cool wallet and pillow.
This new class will be on-going throughout the year.

I just went to Fabmo, a company that collects fabrics from various resources and redistributes the fabric to sewers for a very fair and small donation. I found some great fabrics and suggest that every fabric lover check this place. They are open the second weekend of the month, and appointments are strongly encouraged. Designer Girl!

This past Sunday morning, 11 young brownies attended a class at the Camp Couture. The girls learned how to hand sew a button and use a sewing machine all the while making a cool wallet and a comfy pillow. Please enjoy the photos below.
